Anna & Bryan's Shropshire Summer Wedding
Anna & Bryan were married on a Saturday and after a full week of rain we were greeted with nothing but perfect sunshine from beginning to end of their wonderful day.
I spent the first part of the morning with the girls, while they got their hair (by Salon Blue) and make-up (by Beauty Benefits) done, and Stu my assistant for the day popped over to grab a few shots of the guys at a second location. This was the first time I'd ever been able to provide both sets of preparations to a couple and it was really great to be able to show what was happening for both the bride and groom before they met up at the church.
There were so many gorgeous little details and finishing touches that made this wedding such a treat to photograph, from the groom's cufflinks engraved with the date of the wedding to the most unusual shade of roses picked to compliment the bridesmaid's fino lavender dresses.
Anna walked to the church from her Mum's house only a few streets away and while we waited for her arrival, passers-by stopped to catch a glimpse of the bride.

The ceremony took place in the stunning Holy Trinity Church in Much Wenlock, where the priest was kind enough to allow me to shoot the entire service from the very front of the church, which meant I was able to get this perfect shot of Bryan, right as he saw his new bride for the first time.
The reception was at Bridgnorth's Edgar Davies' Rugby Club where Bryan is coach and so we got to shoot all of these quirky, rugby themed formal shots before the bride and groom were announced to their guests in the marquee. It's not often a bride is willing to risk the dust and dirt of a sports pitch to get a cool photograph, and Anna even got herself a pair of wellies worthy of any glamorous rugby bride!
The Marquee was decked out with chandeliers, a checkerboard dance floor, beautiful, vintage teacups placed on top of stacks of books and filled with flowers for table centre pieces. The tables were named for locations important to the couple and they had this amazing seating plan handmade by one of the guests. So much time, effort and love went into this wedding and it made it such a pleasure to be a part of.

Kids
On Saturday we went to visit Rory's cousins and I got a chance to test out my newest lens on some fast moving subjects. I always think kids are so much fun to photograph when they're doing their own thing instead of making them sit still. Just look at these faces! :D
Photo Challenge week 24: Artistic 'Sparkle'
It's no secret that I have a bit of a thing for photographing dew drops and rain drops. They're easy to find, easy to shoot and if you can keep still enough, make for really interesting pictures. So I thought it'd be a perfect subject for this week's theme and also a perfect opportunity to show off this rose that I managed to grow. Yay!
Birmingham Seasonal Market - The Bond Digbeth
In October I'll be shooting a wedding at The Bond in Digbeth, Birmingham, and since Chris found himself with a Saturday off when we thought he'd be working I had the opportunity to go over and get a good look around the venue while it was open for one of their quarterly Seasonal Market events.
The setting is a really harmonious mix of, urban and vintage and I can see how it would make a perfect spot for a wedding with all of the romantic twinkling ceiling lights, cobbled stones, ivy covered walls and views of the waterfront contrasting against the colourful yet industrial backdrop. So yeah, it's safe to say I'm extremely excited about this one!
The market itself was fantastic, everything looked delicious, so much so in fact that it took me almost the entire time we were there to decide what I wanted to actually eat. Of course having the sweet tooth that I do I ended up grabbing some MadeWithFudge candies, but only after spending an additional 10 minutes lurking around their stall hungrily eyeballing the donuts. I don't even like doughnuts, but look at them.
Whoever dreamed up the heaven that is strawberry milkshake flavoured fudge, I thank you from the deepest depths of my sugar loving soul.
All in all a great day was had by all, we ate amazing food, weren't too badly harassed by the threatening rain, the vibes were great and the people were lovely. Also, lets take a moment to appreciate this lady, who stopped and posed for my picture like an absolute boss where most would merely hide away or pretend they hadn't seen me.

This Week: 12/06/2016
This week we acquired a bubble machine which I have every intention of swiping for use as a prop in future photoshoots. Gatsby wasn't as taken by the experience as I'd imagined, but being the faithful creature he is, he stuck with Rory and endured the soapy bubbles. They're such sweet buddies.
