A return to Llandudno
After our ladt trip to Llandudno, we knew we had to go back with Rory to sample some of the delicious ice cream, play in the arcades and run around on the beach. At the time we didn't expect that when we finally did return it would be as a family of four, but even Fox enjoyed being able to shuffle around and dig in the sand.
Chris found us a lovely Airbnb apartment to stay in for the 2 nights we stayed to celebrate Rory's birthday and even though it drizzled pretty much constantly, the colder weather meant we didn't have to share the seafront with anybody but a handful of fishermen, a few dog walkers and a flash mob of swing dancers.
Val B's Wax
After photographing some of Val B's Wax's stunning beeswax jewellery collection last year, I finally had the opportunity to visit her at her workshop and storefront based in Shrewsbury's Pride Hill shopping centre to shoot some behind the scenes promo images.
Promotional business sessions are a fantastic way to open the door behind the scenes and show your customers all of the efforts that go into your creations. Your creative processes are easily taken for granted when you're in your studio or workshop day in and day out, but for the rest of us, being able to see how you work, and all of the thought, time and love that goes into making what you sell, can be utterly fascinating!
Kate and David
Kate and David were married in May at the Priory Hall Dudley Register Office in a lovely intimate ceremony among close family and friends (and lots of kids, which is always a treat!) before heading back to the home where Kate grew up for toasts and food then heading back out for dancing in the evening. It was a gorgeous day and it meant the world to me to be a part of celebrating it.
Krafty Gifts UK 11
This latest e-Commerce shoot with Krafty Gifts was all about the neon.
As always the products were photographed unprinted, allowing the Krafty Gifts team to insert each of their many designs onto the product images after the shoot, but I couldn't resist showing a couple of the finished designs, because they're always so fantastic.
Tang Cafe
I recently visited Oldbury to shoot some promotional imagery for Tang Cafe at their newest independent workforce cafe in Oldbury.
The session covered environmental shots of the venue itself to highlight it's set up, all of the interiors and details which were chosen to celebrate the local area and some of the services the cafe offers. I also got to do a little bit of food photography for the takeaway meal service offered by the cafe and even managed to talk the business' owner Andy into letting me snap a quick portrait.
Promotional business sessions are always a great way to showcase all of the hard work that goes into running a business and are a great way to allow potential clients and customers to get a glimpse behind the scenes with a wide variety of images for use on websites and social media.
Bridgnorth Yoga Studio
It's always great when I get to work with local businesses that I already love and Bridgnorth Yoga Studio are not only a fantastic family run studio, but they're also my neighbours, my teachers and part-time parents of my cat who insists on sneaking into their house, so it was great to be able to work with them and show off the amazing work they do.
The studio is based just off Bridgnorth's High Town High Street and offers an incredibly wide variety of classes to suit beginners to experienced yoga practitioners, pregnancy and baby friendly classes, pilates and a whole lot more.
For this 'lifestyle' business promo photoshoot we set up a mini class and I photographed everybody doing their thing, which was just fascinating to watch because it's not often I get to work with people in such great command of their bodies, even if having to move higher and lower to catch their various poses made my knees ache for days (I'm definitely on the beginner end of the yoga spectrum and not cut out for such behaviour :D ).
Toni and Nathan are truly wonderful people, as are each of the various teachers I've had the pleasure to meet and work with and this was an incredibly fun shoot. I can't wait to work with them again, and if this inspires you to sign up to one of their classes, maybe I'll see you there!
Krafty Gifts UK 10
Things are changing over at Krafty Gifts UK and where we usually photograph their products blank so that their many designs can be transferred digitally, this time I also got to work on some of their new, pre-printed designs such as this lovely collection of Alice in Wonderland mugs in a quick little drop-off product session.
And speaking of changes, I've done a little tweaking on my photography packages adding a couple of new shoot options including a product photography 'collection' session for those who require a full set of marketing images including styled and e-commerce imagery all in one shoot, along with a business promotion package for creative and service type businesses, so get in touch via the contact page if you'd like more information on this, or to schedule a session (currently taking bookings for August 2019 onwards).
March/April
Where is this year going? I blinked at some point in January and now here we are!
This month I've been using up some of my maternity Keeping In Touch days to shoot some photo sessions that were postponed at the end of last year and taking advantage of having extra time to be 'just' a Mom while Rory has been home over the Easter holidays. We faked a birthday party for her dolls, explored the woods, went horse riding in wales and spend lots and lots of time making her brother laugh.
It's been lovely.
